I HATE COOKING!…Well, not really.

I hate cooking? Well, not really. Some days, it might feel like that but those days are few and far between. Mostly, its a matter of convenience or busy-ness. Other days its because the fridge is full, but not full enough of any one or two things to pull a meal together.

Today was one of those days.

When I encouter this situation, I revert back to the easy, comforting meals of my youth.  When was the last time you had SpaghettiO’s and grilled cheese?  SpaghettiO’s aren’t exactly what I would reach for today, but knowing I liked ’em back in the day was enough to inspire me to make ’em for the kids for dinner tonight.

It was a simple dinner, quick and easy to cook, so I dressed it up a bit with the apples to add some color.  The custard cup added to the presentation too, keeping the saucy, circle shaped pasta from spilling all over the plate.

There were no complaints from the dinner table!

Oddly enough, I came across this video just after dinner.  Its a humorous look at cooking shows, cooking for kids, and how they both relate to every day life.  Enjoy!

  2. High-larious video! Hopefully we’ll never reach the ‘cooking cause we have to’ point!

  3. @Margaret – yeah, pop tarts require a bit of prep work. 🙂

    @The Duo – i hope not!

  5. baahahhahaha! LMAO!

    This kinda reminds me of my house now (4 kids). Before I got married I was eating Oodles of Noodles and fish sticks mostly, but the hubby made me learn to cook. That’s fine, but I still hate it 90% of the time. Tonight’s dinner? I have no idea, but those Spaghettios look damn good.

  6. I’ll let you in on a secret you may already know! I discovered SpaghettiO’s in an exclusive, gourmet section of my grocery store called “Canned Food”.
