The Best Marathons Come With Food And Beer

Last weekend, Josh (the commander in chief over at Food GPS) brought a crack team of food bloggers to our neck of the woods for a marathon; a food marathon.  The concept?  To spend an afternoon eating and drinking at some tasty spots near the beach.

And what a run it was!  In one afternoon the dauntless crew managed to hit several Manhattan and Redondo Beach hot spots.  Among them:

Simzy’s – a new addition to the Manhattan Beach scene, serving artisan foods, craft beers & small production wines.

Naja’s Place – The venerable King Harbor bar featuring live music and 80+ beers on tap.

Quality Seafood – Serving the South Bay for over 40 years with the freshest seafood around.

Hudson House – A well received additon to the Redondo Beach dining scene on PCH.

You can read Josh’s review on Food GPS and another write up over at Food Marathon.  Thanks, guys, for shining a light on the South Bay.  Cheers!

  1. Awww, c’mon! That burger is ridiculous! Way too big, cheesy and greasy….can I have a bite???

  2. Yeah! Looks like there’s plenty to share!

  3. Honestly…a sunny CA day with a cold beer is hard to match. But if you had burger or fries to it, then you’ve created the ultimate. These locations will be visited.
