Blogger Prom or Bust!

They’ve blogged about it, Tweeted about it, they’ve agonized-over-what-to-wear about it.  And now, the day dozens of LA bloggers have been waiting for is finally here: Blogger Prom!  This sponsor heavy, invite only party is being billed as the most exclusive blogger  event of the summer.

“What is Blogger Prom”, you ask?  On one hand, its an opportunity for businesses to get tons of internet buzz, hundreds of product-holding Facebook pictures, and more ad mentions than you can count in three hours or less.  On the other hand, its an opportunity for LA bloggers to dress up in “kitschy, cool, weird prom attire”, socialize, and partake in a bounty of swag.  In either case, I’m happy to be participating!

The “prom”, complete with its own king and queen, takes place at the Andaz Hotel, a new addition by Hyatt to the Hollywood Sunset Strip. (see, I’m already doing my part on the internet buzz thing…)  The rooftop patio of this prime location will serve as ground zero.  There, some of LA’s most popular bloggers (hey, we got invited too!) will party to the sounds of eras gone by as they vie for a laundry list of door prizes and raffles, enjoy appetizers prepared by a reknowned chef, and sample cocktails mixed just for the occasion.

While there is a good sampling of food bloggers, many of the folks attending are lifestyle bloggers, covering all aspects of life and happenings in LA.  With our food focused postion, we’ll be covering the eats and treats that come out of the kitchen and the concoctions that get shaken and stirred up at the bar.  Don’t worry, we’ll take lots of pictures.  After all, it’ll be the one place where it will be pefectly acceptable to take a picture of your plate or glass before diving in; I’m sure everyone there will understand.
