Yard House Scores Big with Monday Night Football Happy Hour in Long Beach

With the season well under way, you might be settled in to your usual spot for Monday Night Football.  Well, just like making a play in the big leagues, there’s nothing wrong with switching things up a bit.

Running instead of passing, punt fakes, and quarterback sneaks are all part of the game.  How about moving your MNF game watch to Long Beach?

I came across a great review of MNF specials around The Rainbow Harbor and Shoreline Village areas of Long Beach on 562 City Life, a Long Beach social network.

Among the nicely manicured list was Yard House, on of my favorite places for happy hour.  With almost 200 beers on tap and great specials, this place rocks for watching games or just chilling out.

When considering their half-price appetizer menu, be sure to check out my favorites:

  • Grilled jerk wings, served with rum barbecue sauce;
  • Firecracker wings, tossed in a spicy sesame garlic plum glaze
  • Chinese garlic noodles, tossed with butter, garlic and shiitake mushrooms.

The menu lists plenty more to choose from but I always find my way back to these three.  I try to manage the spice from the wings with the $4 well drinks and discounted beers.

The best part of the deal?  In addition to their normal happy hour, deals run from the first play until the end o the game. Sweet!

Getting to Yard House is easy (Take the 710 South to Long Beach, then follow the signs to Shoreline Drive).  Make sure you have some cash for parking, a bargain at $1 for two hours with validation.

For other spots in Long Beach for prime MNF viewing, check out this list on 562 City Life.
