The Reuben Truck Needs Your Help
Social Media has entirely changed how small businesses can open their physical or virtual doors. This is evidenced by how Kickstarter and other similar services have upended the traditional business model where an entrepreneur previously had to grovel in front of a Bank Loan Officer.
For example, Auntie’s Fry Bread ran a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2010 and raised the capital they needed to start their Gourmet Food Truck.
Jeff Wedner is one of the latest to start a Kickstarter campaign. His goal is to raise the necessary capital for “The Reuben Truck” which he plans to launch this summer in LA.
What will make The Reuben Truck different than some of the other sandwich trucks roaming the streets of LA? Owner, Jeff Wedner, will feature custom recipes for slow cooked corned beef and pastrami. His concept is a mobile version of a traditional Jewish Deli. He plans on using local vendors for his baked goods. The meat, side dishes and salads, he plans to prepare himself.
Jeff is from Pittsburgh, PA and his father owns and runs a small deli that produces its own cold cuts. He’s proud of the fact that his father’s deli was just named Pittsburgh’s best deli for the 5th straight year. With the combination of learning the trade with his dad, earning a Bachelors of Science in Hospitality Management, and working catering events for the last 6 years (some in LA), he feels that he’s ready to execute his dream in the form of The Reuben Truck.
You can view Jeff’s video on his Kickstarter campaign. Don’t wait to check this out as his Kickstarter campaign ends on Tuesday June 12.
