A delightful surprise at OC Great Park

By now you know that I’m willing to take a drive for the next great meal and today was no exception.  I almost had to strong-arm my daughter to join me in a trip to the Farmers Market at OC Great Park in Irvine.

Upon entering the farmers market, there were a lot of fruit and vegetable vendors and it seemed rather ordinary.  However, the peaches and nectarines looked terrific, but I held back because my wife goes to the Torrance Farmers Market each Tuesday.

Walking towards to the end of the aisle, the bright purple Dos Chinos food truck caught my attention.  Glancing to the right, I could see Chomp Chomp Nation’s canopy tent and a number of other gourmet food trucks and vendors sporting prepared food.

Margherita Pizza from TJ’s Wood Fired Pizza. Flour imported from Italy, fresh basil and San Marzano tomatoes. WOW!

While we ate, we were entertained by an Elvis impersonator.  He felt like singing gospel on a Sunday morning at OC Great Park

Believe it or not, I drove down to Irvine for a pizza from TJ’s Wood Fired Pizza.  My friends from the Slummin’ Gourmet Truck highly recommended their pizza and so I ordered the margherita and the quatro formaggi to go for my wife.  My daughter and I wolfed down the margherita and decided to dig into the quatro formaggi.  My daughter exclaimed “this is sooooo good” and I smiled and agreed with her.
