An Alternative to Turkey: Stuffed Lobster at Bluewater Grill in Redondo Beach

This holiday season, turkey and stuffing might seem passé once you get a load of this: Bluewater Grill is serving stuffed Maine lobster from early November through the New Year.

On Tuesday, November 13 they’ll kick off this seasonal offering with a Stuffed Maine Lobster tasting and wine pairing. The tasting includes a whole lobster – the tail is filled with lobster meat, shrimp, and panko stuffing – a choice of New England or Manhattan clam chowder, and two sides for just $29.95.

On the 13th, the meal also includes a choice of two Sauvignon Blanc selections: Oyster Bay from New Zealand and St. Supery from Napa Valley. Both compliment the lobster nicely in their own ways. The Oyster Bay starts with citrus and finishes piney, creating a palette of flavors. The St. Supery is mellow and straight forward from start to finish.

After the tasting and pairing event, the stuffed lobster will be available off the menu at market rate but not for more than $32.95. Of course, if you order this after 11/13, they won’t be including the wine!

Before you settle into your lobster, I’d recommend at least one of the following appetizers:

Spicy Charred Edamame

  • Baked Crab and Jalepeno Dip ($9.75) – loaded with chunky crab and just enough jalapeño’s to keep your water close by, this one if big enough to share with at least one or two table-mates.

  • Jumbo Wild Prawn Cocktail ($12.50) – Juicy and wonderfully dressed shrimp (no veins and just enough shell to hold onto, but not enough to require peeling), this cocktail is served with enough tangy horseradish sauce for just a couple of these prawns. Ask for extra sauce.

  1. Hi Michael,

We met briefly over a year ago in my parking lot at work. We are the company that has the food trucks everyday over here in El Segundo. I having taken on an interest of blogging and have started my own blog. Starting to get more active on it as I had not since I started. I was out of commission and couldn’t get to it however, I ran across your card and I am now reading your site. Love it and would like to comment on it as well. I experience allot of tasting for I am the event planner for my company, but I do this for my own personal interest. SBFoodies is a very imformative site and I have enjoyed reading thus far. Maybe you can critique on my blog since I am so very new to this, but I just want to put the word out on places and spaces. I will also talk about hot spots, night spots, movies, play’s etc. Let’s chat real soon.
