Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser This Friday at Barsha Wines in Manhattan Beach

Efforts are underway to help New York and New Jersey residents recover from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. It might seem like we’re 2000 miles away but we can still help.

This Friday you can get in the spirit of fundraising by letting the spirits get in you at Barsha Wines and Spirits (formerly Sepulveda Wine Company).

From 6 – 9 PM our friends from LA Wonders will host a party with music, food, wines, and raffles. Entry is free and 50% of proceeds from purchases will be donated to the American Red Cross.

Local business owners interested in donating items for the raffle should contact LAwonders@gmail.com.

If you can’t make the event, here are some other ways you can help!

  • American Red Cross – “Financial donations make the greatest and most immediate impact, helping the Red Cross provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those affected by disasters like Hurricane Sandy”.

  • Save the Children – “Save the Children has already deployed people to hardest-hit areas of New Jersey and New York to ensure children’s needs are addressed in the aftermath of the ‘superstorm.’  In shelters, Save the Children is providing basic necessities for young children, such as nutritious food items, baby blankets, clothing and hygiene supplies.”
