My mom and I went to the Blue Zones ribbon cutting for Napoli Pizza in the Food Court of the South Bay Galleria Mall.  If you would like to learn about Blue Zones, please see my daddy’s article here.

We met Morris Khosravi, who has owned Napoli Pizza for over 20 years.  He came to the South Bay from Iran and started his own business.  For this event, he and his staff made a house salad, pasta with tomato cream sauce, three kinds of pizza (BBQ Chicken, Pepperoni and Cheese) and garlic rolls.

Following is my review of the food that I ate.

Garlic bread

The garlic bread was very soft and moist, yet crunchy on the outside and had a light sprinkle of pepper.

Pasta with tomato cream sauce

The pasta had a very nice tomato cream sauce with melted mozzarella cheese and bits of basil sprinkled on top.  When I asked him how he made the sauce, Morris said it was a mixture of cream and ricotta cheese with crushed tomatoes that was melted together and then tossed with the penne pasta.

BBQ Chicken Pizza

The BBQ Chicken pizza was so delicious that it made my mouth water.  The sauce was made just right and went well with the chicken.  It was not greasy, but it helped to eat it while it is still hot.

Morris uses the breast of the chicken, which is boiled in water for 4 to 5 minutes, then shredded and tossed with a terrific BBQ sauce that was not too smoky but very light.  This was tossed with red onion and cilantro and put on a perfectly baked, hand tossed, fluffy crust.  The pepperoni pizza was very thin, with a nice tomato sauce, and a light layer of mozzarella cheese.  The pepperoni was thinly sliced, regular sized, and had a nice flavor which was not too spicy.

The house salad was not served with your typical romaine lettuce, but had a crisp, very green lettuce with tomatoes and red cabbage with a homemade Italian dressing.  They also had a creamy ranch dressing available.

To celebrate the occasion, they had a ribbon cutting ceremony. I was happy that the Blue Zones people let me hold one side of the blue ribbon.

Napoli Pizza is a great place to go before or after seeing a movie or shopping at the mall.  They have food that parents would like too, such as grilled salmon with roasted potatoes and steamed veggies.  I can’t wait to go back there the next time we go see a movie.

I’d like to thank my mommy for the help in writing this blog post and my dad for formatting my pictures.
