Addi’s Tandoor: Fine Indian Cusine At It’s Best

I’ve had Addi’s Tandoor on my list of places to try for awhile now. I had heard and read many great things about the place and a coworker of mine highly recommended it. With a piqued curiosity, a hungry stomach and an excited mind set, I went on a Friday for a lunch out with my mom.

The restaurant is small, with a cozy ambiance. The nicely set tables and white tablecloths added to the neat overall feel. Several of the tables were already full on Friday at noon; I noticed during the time we were there that customers continued to come in. It’s always a good sign when people are continuously coming.

I had a whole list of recommendations from my coworker but I still was pretty excited looking at the menu. Addi’s has a great menu consisting of various appetizers, rice, soups and salads, exotic breads and different poultry, lamb, beef, seafood, vegan and vegetarian dishes. At lunch, all platters are served with salad, rice and plain naan bread.

My mom and I decided to get one vegetarian dish and one poultry dish. From the vegetarian menu we chose to get the Saag Paneer.

Saag Paneer is great vegetarian dish with homemade cottage cheese cubes sautéed with spinach and spices. This dish is now my new favorite. It was savory and hearty with it’s thick and creamy spinach and chunks of soft cottage cheese squares.

From the poultry section, we chose to get the chicken tikka masala. The waiter informed us that this was one of the most popular choices of customers who go to Addi’s.

It wasn’t not hard to see why this was a customer favorite. This entree is filled with tender pieces of boneless white chicken meat in tangy, zesty and aromatic tomato and ginger sauce.

Both the saag paneer and chicken tikka masala were perfect over the basmati rice and also a winner with the warm, fresh naan bread.

In addition to the yummy entrees, our server graciously had us try the mango lassi. I’ve always been a fan of anything mango and this drink was truly a wonderful treat!

My mom and I truly enjoyed our lunch meal here! Everything we tried was delicious! Service was amazing as well. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in the South Bay and I can say one of the best places for fine Indian cuisine.
