South Bay Fireworks and Fourth of July Celebrations for Friday, July 4, 2014

The prefect recipe for celebrating Independence Day is easy: Take one holiday; add the beach, sunshine, family, friends and a cookout, BBQ, or picnic; top it all off with a fireworks show!

The first few ingredients come easy; the hardest part is finding the perfect celebration with a blazing fireworks show. We’re here to help.

Here’s a list of some of the events going on in and around the South Bay for this July 4, 2014. Enjoy!


Marina Del Rey

Celebrate the 4th of July in Marina del Rey with a spectacular fireworks show over the water! Fireworks are shot from a barge across the Marina’s main channel, lighting up the night sky and water below. The show begins at 9 PM and lasts approximately 20 minutes. El Segundo

The El Segundo Community Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular is a day-long event filled with fun for the family. The party starts at 10 AM with contests and games; live music goes from 5 PM until 9 PM, and then the fireworks show kicks off at 9 PM. If you’re a Second City resident, make sure you get your passes for seats int eh Grand Stand. Guests from the surrounding communities will have to line the streets for a good spot to view the show. Its a good one too!

Redondo Beach

Seaside Lagoon is ground zero for the Redondo Beach Independence Day Celebration. All day long the water park will feature food, games, and entertainment for all ages. In the evnening, the fireworks show will feature stirring patriotic music and a wide variety of fireworks perfectly matched and timed to the music. This show is one of the premiere fireworks displays in Southern California and is visible from the beaches and surrounding communities.

Palos Verdes

PV hosts their annual event once again. The free event starts at 9:30 AM and will feature an All-American pie contest, bike parade, and plenty of family fun.

Carson

The LA Galaxy will take on the Portland Timbers on July 4th with post game fireworks at the StubHub Center in Carson. The show is great from the staduim and can be seen from the surrounding streets. Tickets to the game start around $20 and parking is $15.  If you are parking on the street, check with locals to avoid getting ticketed!

San Pedro

Enjoy a day at the Cabrillo Beach and a spectacular fireworks display. Admission is free. Highlights of the Day include a food truck festival at 2 PM and the fireworks show at 9 PM!
