“Great food needs only love and salt”.

Backed by a powerhouse team of chefs and restaurateurs, Love & Salt opens today in Manhattan Beach.

The restaurant is a reincarnation of the space formerly occupied by Cafe Pierre, the venerable French restaurant that served LA area Francophiles for 37 years.

Opening with Chef Michael Fiorelli at the helm  (most recently of mar’sel at Terranea Resort), the space will focus on Italian-Californian fare, adventurous pizzas, and craft cocktails.

Guy Gabriele and Sylvie Gabriele, the father-daughter team that brought us Cafe Piere (and also Zazou and Farm Stand), will continue their management roles.  Stephane le Garrec, also from Café Pierre, and Melissa Gabriele (Guy’s other daughter) round out the management team.

Love & Salt (named for the team’s philosophy that great food needs only love and salt) will be open nightly for dinner from 5 to 10 PM, Sunday through Wednesday, closing one hour later Thursday through Saturday.  While reservations are recommended, walk-ins are welcome to seats at the bar or communal table.
