Hook & Plow

Spend a day at the beach, and treat your mother to one of The Hook & Plow’s brunch or dinner specials. Brunch will feature a Maryland crabcake benedict special, served on toasted brioche with avocado cream, roasted tomatoes, champagne hollandaise and cilantro. For Mother’s Day dinner, a prix-fixe menu will be served, beginning with a pear and burrata salad featuring fresh Bosc pears, apple butter, burrata, toasted hazelnuts and hazelnut praline over arugula. The second course is local pan roasted halibut, braised artichoke, spring onions, confit peewee potato, porcini mushrooms, and glazed young radish topped with marscapone porcini cream. Finally, diners can choose between goat cheese cheesecake with lilikoi reduction, bittersweet chocolate pot de creme with pistachios and whipped creme fraiche or berry cobbler with a butter crust.

Terranea Resort

Terranea Resort, A Destination Hotel, welcomes families for a relaxing Mother’s Day by the Pacific. Guests can plan the perfect staycation to celebrate mom with the resort’s Mother’s Day Escape Package, a two-night stay including and an amenity for her to enjoy. For those just wanting to enjoy the day, the annual Mother’s Day Champagne Ballroom Brunch, taking place in the Palos Verdes Grand Ballroom, will offer complimentary champagne, a selection of house-made morning pastries, omelet station, Asian kitchen buffet complete with specialty dim sum, children’s buffet, dessert bar and more. Seating times for the event are 9:30 am, 10:00 am, 10:30 am, 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm. Adults $95, children (5-10) $47, and small children (4 & under) are complimentary.

Enjoy Paul Martin’s signature Prix Fixe brunch, which includes fresh-baked blueberry bread with lemon honey butter, seasonal fruit, your choice of entrée, and a beverage until 3pm. Paul Martin’s will also be serving their dinner menu and Sunday’s Prime Rib dinner, featuring all-natural prime rib with mashed potatoes and housemade cookies and ice cream for dessert.

Dominique’s Kitchen

Dominique has prepared a special 3 course prix fixe for your special Mother. First course, select one: Classic Caesar Salad with parmesan shavings and smoked Applewood Bacon or creamy lobster bisque or creamy organic greens soups or organic greens salad with baby heirloom tomatoes baby mozzarella, walnuts, champagne and black truffle vinaigrette.

Second course, select one: roasted leg of lamb with crushed red potatoes and farmers market vegetables, beef bourguignon with creamy truffle polenta, pan seared filet of sole or gluten free ravioli.

Third course (dessert) choice of: white and dark Belgian chocolate mousse, 5 assorted French macarons, coconut and rum pannacotta or fresh organic strawberries and creme fraiche
