King Mediterraneo: The King of Mediterranean Cuisine in Torrance

There’s a king who has made his way into many South Bay foodie’s hearts including this girl and it is no other than King Mediterraneo.

Their delicious, freshly made Mediterranean food is the very reason why this place is King in the Mediterranean food world. One perfect example of their excellent fresh food is their falafels.

The falafels here are made from scratch and the quality can be experienced at first bite. They are tasty, a bit crispy on the outside and not dry at all. They are 100% vegetarian and made out of fresh veggies and real garbanzo beans. It some of the best falafel I’ve ever had and went very well with the delicious, creamy hummus.

Similarly their hummus is made from scratch. They soak their garbanzo beans overnight, mash it with a food processor, and add fresh lemon juice and other ingredients to make the perfect creamy hummus. I have heard their hummus recipe is a family recipe from the owner’s grandmother. How wonderful it is that we get to taste a recipe that has been passed down through generations.

Aside from the falafel, another delicious item I got to try here was their chicken kabob. The chicken kebob is very fulfilling for it has very thick, moist, tender chicken. I loved this with the brown rice. It is also great with pita bread.

The hummus and brown rice are lovely sides to the falafel and the chicken kebob but the tornado potato is one not side item not to be missed. King Mediterraneo’s tornado potato can be seasoned in different flavors. They offer the various seasonings of buffalo, cheesy cheddar, and salt & vinegar. The tornado potato is truly a winner.

From falafel to hummus to tornado potatoes, every thing here is great! This place is definitely worth checking out.
