South Bay Valentine’s Day 2017

Its that time of year again where the tâche du jour is showering our petits amis with love and affection.  Often, that affection comes with a meal and drinks.  Hey, even lovers have to eat, right!?

Shade Hotel Valentine’s Day Three Course Wine Pairing and Hotel Specials

Shade Hotels in Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach are gearing up for Valentine’s day, with plans to feature special three-course, wine- paired Valentine’s Day menus for $75 per person including wine pairing from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., in addition to the restaurants’ regular menus, as well as provocative, romance-inspired overnight room packages.

The Valentine’s Day Romance overnight room package, starting at $295, is offered at both properties from February 10-15 and includes a deluxe guest room, with rose petals dispersed throughout, sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries upon arrival.

The hippest pub for locals is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a LOVERS Menu for $50 Per Couple (full menu available as well); Drink specials all night; and the smooth sound of Jazz by Dayvd Johnson from 7-9PM.  Call for reservations or check them out on Open Table.

Dinners Options at Terranea Resort

On Valentine’s Day, dine in the newly renovated catalina kitchen for a 3-course menu featuring dishes such as oysters, foie gras, prime filet of beef, and white truffle mac and cheese. Just down the freeway in Long Beach, the Federal Bar is making investments in fine dining and craft cocktails for lovers.  Their three course Valentine’s Day dinner ($65/person) includes choices like lobster bisque, bone in ribeye, chilean sea bass, and pineapple sashimi for dessert.  After dinner, check out the vault in the basement (The Federal Bar is a restaurant in and old bank) and dance the night away ($10 cover) to music provided by Chaka & Marty, an upcoming dynamic DJ duo from Orange County.

  1. I hope you had a great Valentines!! It looks like you had a lot of good choices to take “skinnypeopledo” to. ha ha ha I went to Chick-fil-A Luau. The food was good as usual. You will have to do a write-up about it the next time you come home.
