New Years Eve at the Federal Bar, Long Beach

The Federal Bar in Long Beach is helping you ring in the New Year with three ways to celebrate:  a three-course prix fixe dinner package, a premium open bar speakeasy, and a nightclub-style dance party.

Dinner at the Federal is the highlight for me because of the throwback feeling of the old 1920’s bank that’s been converted into a restaurant and event space.  The chandeliers and wood-paneled walls make me feel like I’m taking a trip back in time to the Roaring 20’s.

For this year’s NYE dinner, the dinner line up is great with a three-course prix fixe dinner package with a salad; a choice of Pan Seared Pacific Sea Bass, Braised Short Rib Osso Buco, Herbed Goat Cheese Stuffed Breast of Chicken for the entree; and warm Almost Flourless Chocolate Cake for dessert.  Priced at $65 per person, it also includes one of their signature cocktails and a champagne toast at midnight.

Moscow Mule and Cadillac Margarita.

The salad alone is worth the trip with roasted winter beets, herbed goat cheese, pink grapefruit and pickled red onions with a balsamic rosemary pomegranate vinaigrette.
