BigMista’s BBQ Makes Plans to Shut Down and Relocate Out of State

If you’re making plans to have some Big Mista’s BBQ for your Fourth of July cookout, you might want to move your schedule up a bit.

In a blog post that shared the news of the close, Mrs. Mista — Big Mista’s wife and business partner — explain the reasons behind the move.  “We tried to get out of our lease, but the landlord said no”, she writes, along with details of back and forth with lawyers.

What does the future have in store for them?

Mrs. Mista explains, “We are moving out of state in a few months where I’m starting a new business. Bigmista hasn’t decided what he’s gonna do yet, but he still wants to work with food.”

Whatever it is, I hope they keep making pig candy, brisket, and all the BBQ I’ve been hooked on since coming across BigMista’s grub at the El Segundo Farmer’s Market more than ten years ago.  We’re wishing them all the best!
