I always enjoy visiting Daily Grill, particularly for happy hour. The food is great, the price is right, and the service is what you’d expect for a higher end, sit-down restaurant. While dinner is a little bit more expensive, the entrée selections are great; I’m a big fan of their rib combos! So how can something so good get even better? FREE DESSERT!

In case you missed the ad during the Super Bowl, Denny’s is giving away free Grand Slam meals (2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, 2 pieces of sausage, and 2 pancakes) on Tuesday, February 3, from 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. It has the standard caveats: valid for dine-in only & at participating restaurants while supplies [...]

Today for lunch I was hungry but my cravings were at opposite ends. I was starving so I wanted something heavy and beefy, like a burger or a steak. But it was hot too (80+ degrees in January!?) and I wanted something cool and light like a salad or sushi. Lady Bug Asian Grill came to my rescue!

I’ve been to a couple happy hours at Salt Creek Grille and I’m always impressed. The venue is gorgeous. In the bar area, they have an approachable bar to the left as you walk in with waist high tables and bar stools to the right. Moving forward past that its like a living room; there [...]

Today I stopped by the recently opened Salad Creations at Campus El Segundo. This development, located at the corner of Douglas and Mariposa, has been cranking out grand openings for the past few months with the additions of Z Pizza, Kaya Sushi, and others. But for now, lets talk about the salads.

It’s been a while since I had brunch on a weekday. I skipped breakfast and was craving something breakfast-y but it was around lunch time. I immediately thought of the delicious bagel creations over at Manhattan Bread & Bagel (MBB).
Today the store was packed with customers, no doubt buying breads, pies, and cookies for their [...]

Today I was fortunate to participate in a soft opening at The Counter, located in Plaza El Segundo. The staff there referred to the event as a “Practice Party”. Party indeed; All seats for this free — yes free! — event were by invitation and reservation only. Thankfully, Annalise had been on top of this [...]

I came tonight for the grand opening and it was pretty busy! Set back from Hawthorne in a financial building (formerly the Comerica building), the restaurant is very nicely decorated with lots of booths for various sized groups and a row of intimate booths for parties of two. As a veteran of Melting Pot, I [...]

For dinner tonight, Nicole and I decided to order carry out from Good Stuff, one of my favorite places in El Segundo. I wasn’t too hungry, having had a big lunch earlier in the day. I also had left overs at home from dinner the night before at Second City Bistro. So I called in [...]
