You’re not in Kansas anymore! For patrons of American Farmhouse Tavern & Dining Hall, that’s a good thing. They’ve taken Santa Maria style barbecue and paired it with stylish farmhouse décor for an experience that’s rustic and elegant at the same time. Spoiler alert: The food is good too.

After 8 years of serving pizza, pasta, and awesome breadsticks to hungry South Bay citizens, Pat & Oscars is closing shop at their Del Amo Mall location.

In April I had the opportunity to visit La Traviata, a Long Beach restaurant that combines all the things that make dining out a pleasure: stunning decor, delicious food, and attentive service.  Named for an opera, La Traviata is certainly something to sing about.

School is _in_ for the summer at Downtown LA’s newest gastropub, Public School 612.  Co-located with sister restaurant The Daily Grill at 612 South Flower Street, Public School 612 — also known as PS 612– is a new dining concept with lessons that foodies will register for again and again.

This Saturday, Ortega 120 is recognizing their third year of serving “modern Mexican cuisine” to hungry South Bay locals and visitors.

A few weeks ago I was invited to meet with Executive Chef Phil Kastel and several other food writers at the Daily Grill Located in Downtown Los Angeles.  We gathered to learn about the new and innovative techniques that Daily Grill is using to make each of their 21 locations a guaranteed stop for burger lovers.

Cafe Del Rey is known for careful preparation of home made and seasonally inspired dishes.  Recently, I stopped in to sample items from their winter menu and spend some time in their recently redesigned lounge.

After almost 20 years in Hermosa Beach, Ragin Cajun will be moving to a new location in El Segundo.
