The Tropical Shave Ice truck provides a perfect taste of the classic Hawaiian treat.

Paciugo recently announced that it will release four new flavors during the next month.  Of course, tasting the new flavors is much more fun than hearing about them!

Hello everyone! It’s Bianca from SouthBayRantsnRaves.com and I’m very excited to do a guest post right here on South Bay Foodies! The Little Debbie Cupcake Car came to Torrance yesterday and here’s my experience with them.

The only thing better than a food and wine festival is a food and wine festival in your own backyard!  Our neighbors South Bay Events and the Crowne Plaza are bringing a grand tasting event right here to Redondo Beach.

Happy hour is always fun but its even more fun having a drink and a bite to eat with foodie friends!  We had such a great time hanging with food bloggers and friends at Chaya Brasserie a while back, that we decided to do it again.  Except this time we went for a locale a little closer to home.

An explosion of Greek hospitality ignited Long Beach over the Labor Day weekend, September 5^th – 7^th with the annual Greek Festival hosted by Assumption Greek Orthodox Church on Colorado St.  Celebrating 60 years as host of the “Festival by the Sea”, the Assumption Church opened its doors to the community to share food, drink, entertainment, and their rich Hellenic culture.

There are so many good blogs that I follow and it’s a treat to “know” the authors via their online personas. But to actually meet them in person is a real treat. Joy The Baker offered her readers such an experience by inviting them to share cupcakes on a roof in downtown Los Angeles. Being local to LA – and a big fan of cupcakes – I was eager to participate.

After weeks of anticipation, Blogger Prom has risen to a climax and is settling into rosy memories of polyester, big wigs, and good eats.  The crew that put this thing together did a great job executing it and the attendees did their part by enjoying every minute.

A few weeks ago, I had some great Asian inspired chow at the Japanese Cultural Center’s annual festival in Gardena.  Not only was it a great opportunity to get some great eats, the venue was only a short bike ride away!

For a year now, Hermosa Beach has been the home of authentic, hand-crafted Italian Gelato.  And what better way to celebrate that than by eating more gelato!  Join the folks at Paciugo this Thursday, July 9, to celebrate their first anniversary.  Each vistor that stops by between 4 and 7 PM will be treated to a piccolo cup of gelato.  Read this entry for more info.

Just one month shy of their first anniversary, Paciugo Gelato has become a go-to destination for gelato in Hermosa Beach.  With this location being the first of this chain in California, people are coming in droves for what may be the best gelato in the South Bay.  As the word gets out, their motto almost seems like a self fulfilling prophecy: “reputation before profit”.

I always enjoy visiting Daily Grill, particularly for happy hour.  The food is great, the price is right, and the service is what you’d expect for a higher end, sit-down restaurant.  While dinner is a little bit more expensive, the entrée selections are great; I’m a big fan of their rib combos!  So how can something so good get even better?  FREE DESSERT!

I love watching food television.  Food Network is perhaps my fave with all the shows they have to offer including the iconic Iron Chef series.  Its rare though, if ever, that I will want to use a recipe that I’ve seen on a TV show.  I’m inspired by the chefs and yeah, I’ll use tricks that I’ve picked up from shows, but I can’t recall the last time I made a point to recreate a recipe that I saw on TV.  An episode of Easy Entertaining With Michael Chiarello changed that.
